A Memorable Evening of Music at the School's Choral Concert

The school's spring Choral Concert on March 25th, 2025 demonstrated the remarkable vocal talent of our students. As Director of Music Jasmine Nicholson notes, "Singing is definitely a huge strength at St George's thanks to our amazing teachers who foster a thirst for singing all styles from Nursery through to Upper 6th."
Four Outstanding Choirs
The Junior School Choir, led by Beth Morrison, performed Jim Papoulis' "When I Close My Eyes" and the Spanish folk song "Un Poquito Cantas," accompanied by Clara (U5) on cello.
Jonathan Raynor's Lower School Choir presented "When Will My Life Begin?" from Tangled, "Shenandoah," and "A Million Dreams," featuring soloists Zoe (P6), Annabel (Remove), Connie (L4), and Heidi (L4).
Anne Lewis's Cantate choir performed Bach's "Suscepit Israel" with Clara on cello, followed by Bill Withers' "Lean On Me" and "I Won't Say (I'm in Love)" from Hercules.
The Senior Choir, conducted by Jasmine Nicholson, impressed with Greg Gilpin's "The Lake Lay Blue" and "What Is This Feeling?" from Wicked.
A Moving Finale
The concert culminated with the Mass Choir bringing together voices from Primary 3 to Upper 6th. Their renditions of Jay Althouse's "A Blessing" and "Auld Lang Syne" (arranged by Ms Lewis) provided an emotional highlight that Ms. Nicholson described as "sung with gusto!"
Special recognition goes to U5 instrumentalists Clara (cello) and Joanna (flute) for their beautiful accompaniment throughout the evening.
