A Touch of Tartan and Poetry in Primary 4
04 Feb 2025
On Monday the 27th of January, Primary 4 celebrated Robert Burns Day. We wore a touch of tartan and completed a homework assignment. Our task was to learn a Robert Burns poem and recite it to our class. We could add gestures and bring along props to enhance our performance. Our props included red roses, a bowl with haggis, a furry mouse and a soft toy pony.
The Robert Burns poems that we recited were:
- 'My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose'
- 'To a Mouse'
- 'Address to a Haggis'
- 'My Heart is in the Highlands'
On Friday the 31st of January, the Big Owls from Nursery came to the Primary 4 classroom and listened to our Robert Burns poetry recital. We really enjoyed having an audience to perform to as some of the Big Owls are our siblings.
