A Week of Cultural Celebrations at Houldsworth House
Burns Night Traditions
The week's celebrations started with our Burns Night supper, featuring Chef Stuart's traditional haggis, neeps and tatties. The 5 o'clock club added their personal touch with handmade decorations throughout the dining hall. Our Upper Sixth students joined the wider school community at the St George's Burns Night Social on Friday, where Head of Boarding, Anna, delivered the Address to the Haggis with style.
Lunar New Year Celebrations
Houldsworth House was alive with celebration on Wednesday, 29th January, as our boarding community gathered for Lunar New Year festivities. Everyone shared a feast of dumplings, kimchi and roast chicken, with the evening rounded off as boarders received traditional red envelopes for good luck. Our Deputy Head of Boarding, Lauren, brought the celebration to life through her thoughtful planning and preparation, making it an extra special evening for all.
