Award-Winning Author Sarah Crossan To Visit to St George's
We are pleased to announce that author Sarah Crossan will visit St George’s at the start of next term on Thursday 22 August. Sarah will speak to Lower 4 through to Upper 6, providing them with a unique opportunity to engage with a celebrated literary figure. Advanced Higher English will also meet with Sarah for a writing workshop.
Sarah Crossan is best known for her moving storylines in children’s and YA books written in verse. A highly acclaimed novelist, she has won the prestigious CILIP Carnegie Medal, the YA Book Prize, and the CLiPPA Poetry Award among others. Sarah was also Ireland’s Children’s Literature Laureate from 2018–2020.
After her presentation, students will have the opportunity to ask questions and have their books signed. Anyone wishing to pre-order book should reply to the SchoolPost by Friday 28 June. Alternatively, students may bring cash/card on the day to purchase books from The Edinburgh Bookshop's representative. As always, copies are available to borrow from the Library and on BorrowBox.
We are thrilled to welcome Sarah, following her feature at the renowned Edinburgh Book Festival. The visit will be inspiring and enriching, bringing some of that festival spirit to the start of our term at St George’s.
