Yesterday, all Lower School students took part in our annual Connected Culture conference in the afternoon.

We had three different workshops. In the first workshop, we looked at how to tell the difference between real and fake videos and images. We talked about how trustworthy different sites (like Google) can be and how much they use AI.

Our second workshop encouraged us to look at our screen time and think about how it is good for us to do other things (we shouldn't always be on our devices).

The final workshop looked at cyberbullying. We were put into a fake group chat and one person had been told by the teacher to be really rude to the rest of the group. We had to guess who this person was. It made us think about how we communicate with people online and how it makes people feel. We were also given some different scenario cards and matched myths with the reality of how we should handle different situations.

My favourite part of the day was the group chat task, which was fun. My main takeaway message was that there are better things to do than sitting on your phone.
