National Sports Centre visit for PE students
Upper 5 sports trip to the national sports centre in Inverclyde
This was an enjoyable trip, one of the highlights included gymnastics; we used their amazing gym facilities to practise working on our skills and building our confidence by using different apparatus like the rings.
We also completed a triathlon which tested our stamina and resilience. We used their spin studio for cycling, created a running route around the centre and then used the local pool for swimming. We also had the opportunity to use their gym and have coaching from their personal trainers. We completed a circuit in strength and conditioning and lifting weights.
On the second evening, we had the pleasure of speaking to professional hockey player, Sarah Jamieson, about her experiences in hockey and overcoming barriers in sport.
As the weather was nice, on the last night we walked down to the beach and got ice cream. Overall, the trip was very memorable!
