The Big Owls recently set off on their much-awaited trip to the National Museum of Scotland, where they explored the wonders of time by looking at both the past and the future!
We began our trip by heading all the way up to the fifth floor to visit the Ancient Egypt exhibition to explore the concept of the past. Here, we saw ancient mummies, statues, jewellery and tools, all of which gave us a glimpse into what life thousands of years ago was like. Next, we ventured our way back down to the first floor into the Space and Earth exhibition, where we learned about space rockets, planets, and the future of space travel. Along the way, we had a chance to see skeletons belonging to animals from the past, such as the sperm whale, the giant deer, and the towering Tyrannosaurus rex!
The children loved exploring the many life-sized animals from the past and the present, learning about different species and their habitats. The Big Owls were fascinated by the contrast between ancient history and futuristic discoveries, making it a memorable experience for all!
