Romance, Interviews, and Creative Writing: Elle McNicoll Returns to St George's

We were delighted to host Elle McNicoll as she promotes her debut YA romance Some Like it Cold. While Elle has been our Patron of Reading since 2023, this was a great opportunity to bring Elle's storytelling to a new, older audience of readers at St George's. Sixth form heard from Elle about the inspiration behind Some Like it Cold and her longstanding love of romance novels. Elle was engaging and relatable, as she took questions from the crowd and stayed on to sign books and have a chat with students.

Next, Elle sat in the hot seat for two interviews from Upper 5 students studying reading and writing for their HPQ (Higher Project Qualification). Ruqaya and Cherise each took on their role as interviewer with ease and professionalism, coming away with a very interesting conversation.

Finally, Elle met with the Removes for a special year group visit. Her books are the centre of this year's Remove Reading Challenge - encouraging reading alongside a booklet of activities and competitions. Elle got our creative juices flowing with a storytelling 101 workshop. 

We're grateful to Elle for her time and dedication to St George's as our Patron of Reading. We can't wait to read what she writes next!
