St George's Teams Tackle Scottish Geography Quiz

In May, two teams of Upper 4 and Lower 5 students represented St George's at the local heats of the Scottish Geography Quiz Competition held at Stewart's Melville. 

Working in teams of three, they used their observation, map reading and general knowledge skills to answer questions and solve puzzles about topics like the Arctic tundra, the world's highest capitals and Geography in the news. After six closely-fought rounds, one of our teams raced into third place and made it to the regional final, where they took part in exciting final rounds like 'Who Dares Wins' and the Geography of South Africa. 

Well done to our St George's Geographers who demonstrated excellent knowledge and teamwork: Clara (L5), Sophia (U4) and Emmie (U4) who came 3rd, and Martha (L5), Bridget (U4) and Kari (U4) who came 7th. 

The winner of the Edinburgh region was Broughton High School, who will participate in the Scottish final.
