Summer Sports and Competitions
This summer some of our students will have unique opportunities to excel in their sport internationally.
Isla (Remove) has been making strides in curling:
After Isla (Remove) took part in the 2022 USA Curling junior camp in Minnesota, she was the first non-US participant to win The Katie Beck Award for her dedication. The prize saw her jetting off to Phoenix, Arizona to participate in the 2023 camp.
With progress having been made last season with Team Seftor, an U-14s team from Edinburgh and Kinross who finished third nationally, Isla is looking forward to the new season starting in October. Until then, she will head back over the pond again to participate in the famous Trillium Camp in Waterloo, near Toronto in August 2023, so it will certainly be a very busy summer ahead for our young athlete.
Deepti (L5) is the only girl (one boy and one girl) to be selected from Scotland to represent the country in a 10-country international invitation-only U16 Badminton Singles Tournament held in Japan this summer. What an honour to be selected and sponsored by the Japanese government for this tournament.
Congratulations and good luck to Deepti!
