UKMT Junior Maths Challenge
On April 26th fifty of our students took part in the UKMT Junior Mathematical Challenge.
The Challenge is a 60-minute, multiple-choice paper which encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. The problems on the Junior Mathematical Challenge are designed to make students think. Most are accessible, yet still challenge those with more experience.
All participants have received a certificate of participation. To recognise the highest performers in the Challenge, the top-scoring 50% of participants are awarded Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates. Students that are 'Best in Year' or 'Best in School' have also received a badge to denote this on their certificates.
The 2023 award thresholds were:
82+ Gold, 66+ Silver, 52+ Bronze
