Mr Iain Witherington, Council Member, St George's School, Edinburgh

Iain’s interest in St George’s stems from the strong foundation his two daughters gained from their experiences whilst attending the school. He joined the Council in December 2020 and the HR Committee shortly afterwards. Iain is now retired, and his interests include hiking, keeping fit and travel he also provides coaching support to leaders in both commercial and not for profit organisations as well as managing his own small business.

His career was in global, science led, technology businesses and centred around developing the people, culture, and organisation to enable profitable & sustainable revenue growth through leadership of the Human Resources function and as a member of the Executive Committee. He & his wife Melanie have lived and worked in Germany, Denmark, and Ireland.
