Emma Welsh (née Currie) was a student at St George's from 1976 to 1981. After training at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, she embarked on an acting career, appearing in popular shows like The Bill, Taggart, and River City. Showcasing her entrepreneurial flair, Emma founded her own theatre company, Acting Up, in 1996.

Leveraging her diverse talents, she conducts corporate workshops on topics such as Health & Safety, Wellbeing, Leadership, and organizational culture. Additionally, Emma runs train-the-trainer sessions, equipping teams with valuable skills. Her multi-faceted career trajectory exemplifies the well-rounded abilities she honed during her formative years at St George's. Emma has been married to acclaimed author Irvine Welsh since August 10, 2022.
