Helen Harrison, Head Fettes College, Alumnae St George's School, Edinburgh

Hailing from Edinburgh, where her father taught at Edinburgh Academy, Helen Harrison is a proud alumnae of St George's, class of 1987. After her time at the school, she pursued a degree in Geography at Jesus College, Cambridge, showcasing her athletic prowess by rowing for the University and College teams.

Helen's educational journey continued as she taught English in Portugal, gaining valuable international experience. Her first teaching position was at Clifton College in Bristol, before joining Fettes College as a Geography teacher in 1996. Her exceptional leadership qualities were recognised, leading to her appointment as Deputy Head for 12 years. In 2019, Helen made history by becoming the first female Head of Fettes College.
