Lucinda Russell's passion for riding blossomed during her years at St George's from 1971–1983, where she studied subjects like Biology, Geography, and English. After earning a Psychology degree from the University of St Andrews, she convinced her parents to let her take a gap year to pursue eventing before finding a "proper job" - a detour that became her calling.

Since establishing her stables in 1995, Lucinda has become a highly successful racehorse trainer based in Kinross with her partner Peter Scudamore MBE. She has trained over 700 winners, including nine graded winners and victors at prestigious festivals like Cheltenham and Aintree. A career highlight was her meticulous three-year planning for One For Arthur's 2017 Aintree Grand National victory.

In recognition of her services to horseracing, Lucinda was awarded an OBE in 2018, a proud achievement for Scottish racing. She continues to shatter records, including most jump winners in a Scottish season (71 in 2022/23). Her unwavering passion, ignited at St George's, has propelled Lucinda to become one of Britain's most accomplished jump racing trainers.
