A graduate of St George's Class of 1981, Rowena Naile (née Griffiths) initially trained as a dietician before joining the Woman's Royal Army Corps. Her distinguished military career began with serving in units like The King's Own Scottish Borderers, attending Sandhurst in 1986.
Rowena's first posting in Berlin involved commanding the military train and formally meeting Russian forces. She went on to serve in diverse locations including Nepal, Bosnia, Norway, Afghanistan, and Germany, showcasing her exceptional leadership abilities.
It was her outstanding command during the 2011-2012 deployment of 20 Armoured Brigade in Afghanistan that earned Rowena the prestigious MBE. Since retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, she has embraced charity work, volunteering, and sports.
