Stephanie Omari, Singing Teacher, St George's School Music Department
Stephanie Omari made her professional debut at the age of 15 with the Canadian Opera Company and went on to be awarded the 2012 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions People's School award (Western Canada District). She has performed across North American and Europe in both operatic and recital settings and holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Master of Music in Operatic Performance, both awarded under full tuition scholarship.
When living in Berlin, Stephanie founded a bilingual music school teaching in both German and English. After moving back to Canada, she founded a music school which had over 250+ active students. While serving as the founder and Artistic Director of the school, she also held a tenure position as a Professor of Musical Theatre at Sheridan College, one of North America's top Musical Theatre programs.
Her students have gone on to further their musical studies and have been accepted to top universities including NYU Tisch School of the Arts and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Many of the students can be seen performing on worldwide stages as well as on Netflix, Broadway, 54 Below, and Mirvish.
Now living in Edinburgh, Stephanie has an active studio both in-person and online. She is currently part of the Visiting Music Teacher team at both Merchiston Castle School and St George's School as is leading the Musical Theatre Club with the Junior and Lower School at St George's School.
