“I have always been passionate about music, and studied Singing, Piano, and Clarinet from an early age. After attending The City of Edinburgh Music School, I won an entrance scholarship for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where I studied Classical Singing and Piano. Following that, I studied my BMus at The University of Edinburgh and teaching qualification at Moray House. For my MEd I returned to the RCS. I chose to work at St George’s for its strong music tradition where performance plays a large part in the life of the school. The music facilities here are fantastic, especially the Robertson Music Centre where our learners perform in the magnificent auditorium, with its beautiful piano, from Early Years onwards. That’s where we hold more than 20 concerts and events throughout the year for the Junior School. I love our weekly Song Practice and our Assemblies where we sing together as a school. Two other highlights of my week are the 70-strong Junior Choir on Fridays before school and Recorder Ensemble on Wednesdays. Every performance is special, and I am very proud of all the hard work that goes into each event from our learners, teachers, and support from our parents to ensure that each is a great success. It fills me with joy when I hear that our leavers enjoy music as much as I do…”
