Caroline May, Primary Teacher at St George's School

Primary Teacher

With over 40 years of teaching experience in the Junior School classroom and nursery, I have gained a wealth of knowledge.
During my University studies, I completed the preliminary and full swimming teacher qualifications due to a strong interest in water sports. I completed the CELTA qualification and an Australian ESL course and travelled with my family to teach in an International School in Asia. My first reception class had 25 pupils with many nationalities and just five native English speakers. I gained essential knowledge of differentiating my lessons to ensure that every pupil could access learning. I also incorporated my swimming teacher qualification into this post.

The last twenty years of my teaching experience have been in Edinburgh girls' schools. Firstly at St Margaret’s School for Girls and moving to St George’s School in 2010.
