“Originally from Florida, I moved abroad for my undergraduate degree in Comparative Literature from the American University of Paris. I then moved to Edinburgh for an MSc in Book History and Material Culture from the University of Edinburgh and later an MSc Information Management and Preservation from the University of Glasgow. In 2021, I was honoured to be shortlisted as Scotland’s Library and Information Professional of the year. So, you could say that I have a bookish background! Here at St George’s, there’s a wonderful reading culture among students and staff alike. And our Library has a collaborative team of three colleagues which creates an exceptionally dynamic learning environment that values student voice. Author visits are always a highlight, such as bestselling children’s authors Anna James and Elle McNicoll. Above all, I love being stopped around school by excited pupils telling me what books they’ve been enjoying. Students and I are constantly swapping recommendations, so we’re never without a good book to read!”
