I began my teaching career in Edinburgh in 2011 and have since had the privilege of working in Kenya, Spain, and Brazil within both International and British schools. After a decade of international teaching, I returned to Edinburgh, where it all began, to be closer to my family. Currently, I am a Primary School Teacher in the Junior School at St. George's School, a role I have held since 2022.

Throughout my career, I have taught across all year groups from Nursery to Primary 7. I am particularly passionate about teaching phonics and Early Literacy skills, as I believe that teaching children to read unlocks a world of opportunities. The excitement and sense of achievement that literacy brings to young learners is truly rewarding.

Originally from a rural part of Dumfries and Galloway, I have a love for outdoor learning. At St. George's, we are fortunate to have beautiful grounds, including a fantastical forest and a lovely garden, which provide an ideal setting for nurture and education.

Throughout my career, I have undertaken various roles, including ECO Coordinator, Subject Lead, Interdisciplinary Learning Lead, and the head of the Early Years Foundation Stage (ages 2-6).
