Head of Sixth Form
My passion for the great outdoors brought me to Scotland. Although St George's was different from the comprehensive schools in southwest England I’d previously worked for, I immediately felt at home here and shared the same educational values. I’m probably biased but the Sixth Form is a special part of our school, a real sense of family where we celebrate everyone's successes and support each other when times are tough, and deadlines loom. That’s why the feeling of pride and joy is overwhelming at Speech Day, as students stand before their families, ready to take their next step into adult life. My enthusiasm for outdoor adventure has continued as Duke of Edinburgh’s Award manager for a decade, running Sixth Form expeditions to exciting places like Nepal and Costa Rica. Above all, our Sixth Form team’s aim is to support students in becoming independent and confident women, ready for all the future holds.
